The Reset Haus — a complete restoration, a clean slate, a quiet return to balance.
What was once an apartment weighed down by partitions now breathes again. Over time, the space had become enclosed and disconnected; however, with careful restoration, its character began to reemerge. By stripping back the walls, natural light was invited in, thereby allowing the home to return to its original, open state.

Behind the vision:
Welcome to The Reset Haus — a complete interior restoration and transformation by Modhaus, an interior design studio based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
From the very beginning, this project represented a fresh start — a calm return to balance and a reimagining of modern urban living. Over time, every decision guided the transformation toward a space that feels both intentional and restorative. As a result, the home now feels open, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed.
At Modhaus, we strongly believe in designing with restraint. In other words, we value purpose over excess. Therefore, every detail — from the layout to the lighting — is created with clear intention and mindful precision. Ultimately, this approach reflects our belief that simplicity brings not only clarity but also lasting comfort.

Where form returns, and everything else follows.

The journey:
This 816-square-foot apartment was once divided into three small bedrooms, turning what should have been an open layout into a maze of cramped spaces. At first glance, our clients found the home heavy, dark, and closed off. Because of this, they wanted a design that felt lighter, more open, and better connected.
Our interior design team in Kuala Lumpur focused on restoring the original flow of the space. By carefully removing unnecessary partitions, the new layout now connects the living and dining areas into one open, balanced zone. As the redesign progressed, we introduced soft beige tones and warm neutrals to create a calm, inviting atmosphere. In addition, natural light now extends deeper into the home, thereby enhancing its sense of openness and warmth. Ultimately, the apartment feels airy, grounded, and effortlessly modern — a result of intentional planning and minimalist design.
