Hikari Haus — where light lingers in the in-between.
This residence examines the subtle interplay of light and material through carefully calibrated minimalism. Walls become light-diffusing surfaces, while spatial voids become moments of reflection.
Beige—the predominant wall color—functions as a three-dimensional canvas for sunlight, its matte finish softening glare while maintaining luminosity. Indirect illumination from the windows allows shadows to travel gradually across surfaces throughout the day.
What might appear as empty areas are actually carefully proportioned intervals —the distance between the lounge chair and the sofa, the air around the oak coffee table. These “in-between” moments become just as considered as the objects themselves.
